  1. slightly above average thriller… most of the dialogue between the ambiguously motivated boss and his ambiguously back-scarred employee contest winner is hammy fending off the audience from expecting more than a thriller, which is what they deliver without any real action, which itself was a nice change of pace from just going balls-out with android acrobatics
    psychologically, the first five minutes of blade runner is far more interesting than anything in this, and the two guys’ dialogue is just like wonka without gene wilder…
    if you can get hooked by ava’s first reveal, the rest of her development carries the movie
