An old Sammy is playing an electric guitar on stage with a band. Later, as Sammy’s drinking at the bar, a young Stack and Mary show up. Stack tells Sammy that Smoke let him go if he promised not to bother Sammy until he’s almost dead. Stack smells him and says it’s not long now. Do you want me to turn you and take your pain? They both talk about how that night was both of their best nights. It was Stack’s last day with his brother and his last sunset. For Sammy, it was the first time he felt free.
