Woody, Bo, Duke Caboom, Ducky and Bunny help kids win prizes at carnival.
After the kids win all the prizes, Ducky and Bunny say what they would do to the Axel the Carnie. They show an imaginary attack sequence where Bunny and Ducky grow to tremendous size and chase after the teenager running the game, blasting him with lasers from their eyes. Then Bo says “Why not get more toys tomorrow for the kids to win?”
Bonnie returns from her first day of 1st grade and tosses her bag into her room. Jessie emerges and reports that Bonnie had a great time at school, and actually made a friend. Jessie introduces a new toy made from a plastic knife, much to the joy of Forky. Forky said that he will explain everything on how to be a toy.

Terrier Max (Patton Oswalt) is coping with some major life changes. His owner (Ellie Kemper) is now married and has a toddler, Liam. Max is so worried about protecting the boy that he develops a nervous tic. On a family trip to a farm, Max and mutt Duke (Eric Stonestreet) encounter canine-intolerant cows, hostile foxes and a terrifying turkey, all of which only elevates Max’s anxiety. Luckily, Max gets some guidance from veteran farm dog Rooster (Harrison Ford, making his animated-film debut), who pushes Max to ditch his neuroses, find his inner alpha, and give Liam a little more freedom.

Meanwhile, while her owner is away, plucky Pomeranian Gidget (Jenny Slate) tries to rescue Max’s favorite toy from a cat-packed apartment with a little help from her feline friend, Chloe (Lake Bell), who has discovered the joys of catnip.

And crazy-but-cute bunny Snowball (Kevin Hart) gets delusions of grandeur that he’s an actual superhero after his owner Molly starts dressing him in superhero pajamas. But when Daisy (Tiffany Haddish), a fearless Shih Tzu, shows up to ask for Snowball’s help on a dangerous mission, he’ll have to summon the courage to become the hero he’s only been pretending to be.

The closing credits look like books and documents scattered in a Victorian-era library belonging to Sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman’s character). As the camera slowly pans around, we see Mr. Link’s hand moving things around while the names in the credits show up as book titles, descriptions on maps, etc. Toward the middle of the credits, we see Lionel pull out a blueprint of the start of the elephant walking scene. The blueprint transforms into a time-lapse behind-the-scenes shot of how the scene was animated using stop-motion. The rest of the credits resume with the names appearing on random pieces of paper scattered on an infinitely long table. Mr. Link’s hands occasionally show up to move things.

Spring, and the last of the cherry blossoms are still in bloom. The usually aloof bookworm with no interest in others comes across a book in a hospital waiting room. Handwritten on the first page are the words: “Living with Dying.” He soon discovers that it is a diary kept by his very popular and genuinely cheerful classmate, Sakura Yamauchi, who reveals to him that she is secretly suffering from a pancreatic illness and only has a limited time left. It is at this moment that she gains just one more person to share her secret.

Trying to maintain a normal life as much as possible, Sakura is determined to live her life to the fullest until her last day. As her free spirit and unpredictable actions throw him for a loop, his heart begins to change.
