While celebrating their last night together, Jo and Raissa stumble upon a mysterious portal that transports them to the fantastical island of Nakali, packed with magical and mythological creatures they grew up hearing stories about from their Filipino families.

It was supposed to be an ordinary chase. A museum after hours, a cat, a mouse, and the same argument they have been having since 1940. Then Tom swings, Jerry ducks, and something very old and very golden goes clattering across the marble floor.

The compass does not point north. It points somewhere else entirely, and it takes them with it.

Flung out of their own century and into a world neither of them can talk their way out of, the most famous rivals in animation are stuck with a problem no anvil can solve. Getting home means going forward. Going forward means going together. Along the way they pick up a band of unlikely allies and attract the attention of forces who would very much prefer the compass stay lost.
