  • Leonardo (voiced by Stephen Fry) speaks to the audience and says “I’m trying not to sound like Alec Guinness, but ‘these aren’t the droids you want.'” while waving his arm like Obi-wan Kenobi.
  • There are a lot of snarky comments throughout the credits. When the first two producers are named, there’s a pencil sketch of them with one asking the other to look in the couch for spare funding. Under the credits for Jason and the Argonauts animation, the quote “Skeleton fight! Need I say more?” is attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. Someone was credited as someone’s “Gin Rummy Partner.”
  • At at the end, there’s a disclaimer saying no puppets were hurt during filming.

What did you think of this film?
This April, meet Mr. Link: 8 feet tall, 630 lbs, and covered in fur, but don’t let his appearance fool you… he is funny, sweet, and adorably literal, making him the world’s most lovable legend at the heart of Missing Link, the globe-trotting family adventure from LAIKA. Tired of living a solitary life in the Pacific Northwest, Mr. Link recruits fearless explorer Sir Lionel Frost to guide him on a journey to find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along with adventurer Adelina Fortnight, our fearless trio of explorers encounter more than their fair share of peril as they travel to the far reaches of the world to help their new friend. Through it all, the three learn that sometimes you can find a family in the places you least expect.

during the credits
The closing credits look like books and documents scattered in a Victorian-era library belonging to Sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman’s character). As the camera slowly pans around, we see Mr. Link’s hand moving things around while the names in the credits show up as book titles, descriptions on maps, etc. Toward the middle of the credits, we see Lionel pull out a blueprint of the start of the elephant walking scene. The blueprint transforms into a time-lapse behind-the-scenes shot of how the scene was animated using stop-motion. The rest of the credits resume with the names appearing on random pieces of paper scattered on an infinitely long table. Mr. Link’s hands occasionally show up to move things.

What did you think of this film?
Our free-wheeling hero, Peng, rejects the community of his tight-knit flock of geese in an attempt to live life on his own terms. But after he narrowly rescues two young ducklings, Chi and Chao, from an eccentric but deadly cat named Banzou, the two latch onto the Goose like a parent; and with a paralyzing winter on the horizon and the departure of both their flocks, Peng agrees to look after the ducklings out of fear his injury might be discovered by Banzou, and other predators who would prey on a goose who cannot fly. The makeshift trio embarks on a beautiful and dangerous journey through mountains and lakes, bamboo forests, marble caves and deep river valleys to reach their respective flocks. On the way, Peng must learn to care for the two ducklings despite his independent attitude, all the while evading the hungry and relentless Banzou, who’ll stop at nothing to claim the ducklings he feels entitled to.

In Disney’s “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” an all-new spectacular adventure featuring the unforgettable characters from Lewis Carroll’s beloved stories, Alice returns to the whimsical world of Underland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter. Directed by James Bobin, who brings his own unique vision to the spectacular world Tim Burton created on screen in 2010 with “Alice in Wonderland,” the film is written by Linda Woolverton based on characters created by Lewis Carroll and produced by Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd and Tim Burton with John G. Scotti serving as executive producer. “Alice Through the Looking Glass” reunites the all-star cast from the worldwide blockbuster phenomenon, including: Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham Carter along with the voices of Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen and Timothy Spall. We are also introduced to several new characters: Zanik Hightopp (Rhys Ifans), the Mad Hatter’s father and Time himself (Sacha Baron Cohen), a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock.

Alice Kingsleigh (Wasikowska) has spent the past few years following in her father’s footsteps and sailing the high seas. Upon her return to London, she comes across a magical looking glass and returns to the fantastical realm of Underland and her friends the White Rabbit (Sheen), Absolem (Rickman), the Cheshire Cat (Fry) and the Mad Hatter (Depp), who is not himself. The Hatter has lost his Muchness, so Mirana (Hathaway) sends Alice on a quest to borrow the Chronosphere, a metallic globe inside the chamber of the Grand Clock which powers all time. Returning to the past, she comes across friends – and enemies – at different points in their lives, and embarks on a perilous race to save the Hatter before time runs out.
