Three days before the college football national championship game, star quarterback LeMarcus James (Stephan James) and teammate Emmett Sunday (Alexander Ludwig) ignite a player’s strike declaring they won’t compete until all student-athletes are fairly compensated. With billions of dollars on the line, the stakes could not be higher as their head coach (J.K. The closing credits look like books and documents scattered in a Victorian-era library belonging to Sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman’s character). As the camera slowly pans around, we see Mr. Link’s hand moving things around while the names in the credits show up as book titles, descriptions on maps, etc. Toward the middle of the credits, we see Lionel pull out a blueprint of the start of the elephant walking scene. The blueprint transforms into a time-lapse behind-the-scenes shot of how the scene was animated using stop-motion. The rest of the credits resume with the names appearing on random pieces of paper scattered on an infinitely long table. Mr. Link’s hands occasionally show up to move things.
