Best friends Nick Schuyler (Zachary Levi) and Will Bleakley (Marshall Cook), and NFL players Marquis Cooper (Quentin Plair) and Corey Smith (Terrence Terrell), depart Clearwater, Florida for a fishing trip 70 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico. While attempting to free a trapped anchor before a fierce storm hits, their boat capsizes, throwing the four friends violently into the freezing water. US Coast Guard Captain Timothy Close (Josh Duhamel) and his crew, beaten back in their air rescue efforts, summon their largest ship to cut through the raging ocean as the group battles massive waves, dehydration, severe hypothermia, and even sharks, in their epic struggle to survive and return home to their distraught loved ones.

Emilia Harcourt and John Economos (two of Amanda Wallers’ agents) are sent out to find Billy/Shazam. They find him at an abandoned gas station deep in the woods, shooting bottles and cans with lightning bolts. The two agents extend an offer to Shazam to join the Justice Society, but Shazam eagerly agrees after hearing the word “Justice” thinking it was the Justice League (which he wants to join so he can be near Wonder Woman). After finding out that he joined the wrong group, he suggests alternate names to avoid confusion. He suggests a few, ending with The Avengers Society.

Dr. Sivana is sitting in his jail cell, when he hears Mister Mind (a caterpillar, just like after the first movie). Sivana complains about having to wait two years to hear from Mister Mind, and eagerly waits to hear how he’s going to get out of prison. Mister Mind starts to talk, and then says he has to do one more thing… and slithers out of the jail cell, leaving a frustrated Sivana fuming.
