NOTE: Just an FYI for those wondering if seeing it in HFR is worth it, we got this email from a fan of the site named Joe: “HFR gives the movie an amazingly life like stature. Makes you feel as if you’re actually there in the movie yourself.”.
NOTE: In memory of Mike Turner who helped us make this film. Ka maumahara tonu matou ki a koe, a ka mokemoke, ka pouri i to haerenga. Rest in peace.
Special thanks to Jule S. for this submission
The movie is dedicated “In memory of Mike Turner who helped us make this film. [Line in Maori.] Rest in peace.” I think they’re referring to http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0877769/?ref_=fn_al_nm_3, but I couldn’t find any additional info on him.
I’ll try to get the Maori phrase when I see the movie again.
The full dedication reads as follows:
In memory of Mike Turner who helped us make this film.
Ka maumahara tonu matou ki a koe, a ka mokemoke, ka pouri i to haerenga.
Rest in Peace.
Wow…I am having no luck getting that translated!
Curious myself. Ref Maori to English dictionary. I think it loosely translates to “We will remember you always, we miss you greatly, we are sad you are gone.”
Not able to translate word for word. Can get idea from Maori to English dictionary. I think it means something like “We will remember you always, we miss you, we are sad you are gone.” But don’t quote me…
